Yasmeen Magar is an Egyptian-American filmmaker and producer based in Los Angeles. Passionate about building thoughtful, people-first productions, they believe the best films are made when everyone feels respected, supported, and empowered to do their best work. From development through production, Yasmeen is drawn to projects that are both emotionally resonant and creatively ambitious.

As a producer, Yasmeen has worked across award-winning independent films, from festival-bound shorts to feature productions, overseeing everything from fundraising and development to on-set logistics and team management. They thrive in the collaborative nature of filmmaking and enjoy bringing together talented artists to create meaningful stories.

Yasmeen is committed to amplifying underrepresented voices and championing inclusive sets, both on-screen and behind the scenes.

 

Their own work often explores themes of grief, identity, and complex family dynamics. Their award-winning short Run Through It reflects on the emotional aftermath of their father's death, while their latest short, Late to Mom's Funeral, a dark comedy about loss, is currently on the festival circuit. They are also developing the feature adaptation of Late to Mom's Funeral.
